The food is always good and HUGE. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach--togo boxes will be needed. Be sure to get there early or you will be on the waiting list for a while.

Delicious sushi and such large portions too omg! It was a little cold because we were right at the door but besides that, the waiters did a great job bussing and serving so efficiently! It is definitely very busy and you should be prepared to wait unless you get there way before doors open and line up. Overall had a pretty good experience!

If Saburo's is a place you want to try, I highly recommend coming early because there is always a line. I came 20 minutes before opening and there were at least 7-8 parties in front of me. The food is always delicious and portions are insanely huge. The price may seem scary expensive at first, but once you get the place, good luck finishing. The restaurant is very cozy with more room in the back. The bathroom is surprisingly super clean. A thing that I like is that Saburo's only allows you to order once, which makes the food come out faster since people can't keep ordering. Make sure to double check everything you want to order for this reason

The best thing was that we didn't have to wait to get seated with 5 people. Portions were still bug and I always stop by at least once when I come home (Portland). For the size, fish is always fresh and I do think price isn't crazy if you consider the portions (not cheap though). The restaurant is old and feels a little tight, but it was emptiest I have seen it in awhile.

My friend goes to college in the area and wanted to make sure we ate here before we left to fly home. There's a parking lot just to right of restaurant to park. Make sure you open the door and sign in to reserve your spot. They close the sign in about 15-30 minutes before they close. There were 10-20 outside the door to get in so be aware of what it might take to get in. It's a pretty small place with more chairs in the back with a beautiful mural. The portions are so big you can't fit it in your mouth. You have to take bites. A little order goes a long way. Not the best I've ever had but good portions for the buck.

Ginormous sushi/nigiri portion sizes, so large that it takes at least 2-3 bites to finish one piece of anything! Fish itself was decently fresh and service was quick and effective. Dining space was decently small, but there was also a back room with a few more tables as well. Sign in on the sheet and hopefully not have to wait too long for a table (we waited about 40 minutes for table of 3 after 7:30p). You can also opt for take out if you don't want to wait. The staff will call out names (there is no buzzer) so don't wander far to avoid losing your spot. There is a small parking lot right next door, but it fills up so there is also street parking in the residential area a few blocks over. I particularly enjoyed the scallop nigiri and salmon nigiri. The tuna was alright but nothing too special to me. Karaage was good as well. There is also a lot of sushi rolls to chose from -- the ones with raw fish are marked on their menu.

Second time ever here and it's just as good as I remember! The portions are HUGE. I got a roll, a hand roll, sashimi, nigiri, and edamame all for $59 before tip. I love it here so much - would literally visit Portland just to come here. You gotta try it for yourself - trust. Spicy tuna hand roll - it's pretty long and the nori is hard to bite off but worth the work. The spicy tuna had a strong sesame oil taste that I didn't mind. Hamachi sashimi - thick cut and fresh pieces given. My favorite always! Karate roll - huge roll with 7 pieces. Lots of rice but it balanced well with the cucumber and fish. Even the chopped fish pieces in here were big chunks. Couldn't finish it all so I took 4 pieces home. Nigiri - the salmon belly felt like just a regular piece of salmon but delicious and creamy nonetheless. The toro also was good - not as buttery as I've had before but I still enjoyed. Edamame- came out steaming hot, not overly salted (more on the plainer side) which I liked. It was a good size, only got through half of the bowl in the restaurant.

I have been going to Saburo for many years now and their service has gotten so much better! Service was attentive and great lately. The restaurant is small, but it gives a cozy vibe. The restaurant is always busy so I would recommend coming at 5:00 when they open or be prepare to be on a waitlist! Parking spot is also small - but you can find street parking which is not too bad! Come in with an empty stomach! The sushi portions are huge and is so tasty. I love the salmon belly nigiri. It is so fatty and will melt in your mouth! I enjoyed every bite! I can't wait to come back again and again!
